Two Popular Fundraising Events
1) Put the Kettle on for King's and Hold a Coffee Morning or Tea Party
Where - at home, local school, church, work place or village hall.
When - any date or time. It can last all morning/afternoon or just a 15 minute break while at work.
Who - colleagues, friends, family, neighbours, club members, parents' group or everyone you know.
How - contact the King's Fundraising Team for advice and ask friends, family, colleagues or neighbours to help you organise the event.
Promotion - invitations, posters, emails and, most effectively, word of mouth.
Fundraising Mechanisms - charge an entry fee or suggested donation, charge per coffee, tea or cake, hold a raffle or a tombola. Please contact the King's Fundraising Team for other fundraising ideas.
Refreshments - make all the cakes etc yourself or ask local supermarkets, bars and cafes to donate the tea, coffee and cakes to keep the costs down.
2) Test Your Friends' Knowledge and Hold a Quiz Night
Where - at your local pub, school, village hall, golf club or student union.
When ' any evening or weekend afternoon.
Who - colleagues, friends, family, pub regulars, neighbours, golf club members or everyone you know.
How - contact the King's Fundraising Team for advice and ask friends, family, colleagues or venue staff to help you organise the event.
Promotion - invitations, posters, emails and most effectively word of mouth.
Fundraising Mechanisms - charge a team or individual entry fee, charge for every wrong answer, sell jokers so teams can receive double points for their strongest rounds. Please contact the King's Fundraising Team for other fundraising ideas.
Refreshments - ask the pub landlord if they can provide food for free at a discounted rate. If the venue is not a pub then ask local supermarkets to donate food and drink for free - check if you need a food and alcohol licence.
Quiz Questions - you can buy quiz books from all good book shops & libraries or you can download questions from many free quiz websites.
Prizes - Wine, hampers, gift vouchers and meal vouchers are always popular. Try to get all prizes donated by local shops and businesses to save on costs.
